Haarlow's Hoops Academy just started in the summer of 2015. In just 7 weeks I had over 45 lessons. Most of the lessons were 1 on 1 with some being small groups of 2, 3, and 4. Purposeful training in the fundamentals of basketball is needed at every level. My sessions are highly organized, detailed and will make you better as a player. My training philosophy is based on years of learning from some great leaders and coaches in the game. There is no substitution for repetitions. I firmly believe that some form of "self discovery" is needed for something new to truly sink in. Teach the skill, make sure there is a good understanding, then repeat a ton and learn from mistakes... Kevin Eastman, one of the best teachers in the game, coined the phrase; "it takes 2 minutes to teach a skill, 2 weeks to go full speed and 2 months to perfect the skill." Athletes want to be held accountable and held to a higher standard. With a coach in the gym that can be accomplished once a rapport has been established.
H.H.A. is a vehicle to get better. I want you to be a better person and basketball player after you are done training with us. I was fortunate to coach basketball in college for almost two decades. I know what it takes to make you better. My program offers a variety of ways to improve as a player. 1 on 1 sessions, small group sessions, and team training are the areas that the program covers. Most of my sessions are hosted at the O'Neal School in Tate Gymnasium. My sessions are full of details and will be very organized.
